Christmas at the Library

Celebrate Christmas with family and friends at our 4th annual event!

Young and old alike will delight in beautiful decorations and displays throughout the library. View trees decorated by local organizations and businesses and vote for your favorite. Children will enjoy a visit from Santa, decorating cookies and simple crafts and activities.  Hayrides through the village to take in the areas beautiful lighting displays will be offered from 4:30-5:50.  There will be guessing contests and games for all ages. 

Anyone of any age or ability is welcome to participate in our ornament contest.  Bring in a handcrafted gingerbread ornament to display on our tree. The ornaments can be crafted from any material you choose, clay, wood, sewn etc...Attendees will vote for the best in both adult and child categories, and prizes will be awarded.

Children through fourth grade can participate in the coloring contest. Entry forms will be sent home with school children, or can be picked up at the library. Entries for both the ornament and the coloring contest must be turned in no later than December 5 to be eligible. The entries can be turned into your school, or at the library.

 

Choose from hundreds of holiday books, movies and music selections which will be available for checkout. Our annual Food for Fines food drive to benefit Oakfield Food Pantry also kicks off, and will run though December. Pay off up to $5.00 in Oakfield Library fines with a donation. Each item is valued at 50 cents.
