E-readers available for check-out

The library  offers a Nook and a Kindle available for check out to Oakfield patrons. If you are interested in reserving on of these devices, please contact the library. The e-readers will be available for Oakfield patrons only and will have a variety of titles pre-loaded onto them. The e-reader has become very popular with all ages, and the library is excited to offer this technology to our users. This offers a geat opputunity to try before you buy, and acquaint yourself with the device.

Patrons are buzzing about the great selection of e-books available to them through our catalog. On our home page, click on research and scroll down until you see Overdrive. This will take you to the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) There you can browse thousands of e-books, audiobooks and more. All are available for free download to your Kindle, Nook, IPad, IPhone and many other devices. Maybe the title you are looking for is not  available.  Don't worry,  placing a hold is quick and simple. The wait for holds is generally a very short time. Overdrive has also begun to give you the option of returning the title, rather than waiting for it to expire. This results in a shorter wait time for holds. Because the popularity of e-readers has grown so much, Overdrive is adding new materials all the time. Give it a try today!

E-books are available free to library cardholders through Overdrive. Click on our research tab and browse thousands of e books, audiobooks and other digital media. Check out is quick and easy. If item is not currently available, you can place a hold. Generally the wait for a hold is short, only one or two weeks. Much faster than waiting months for the paper copy at the library. If you do not have a card from a Winnefox library, stop in. It is a short application, and requires proof of ID. You will be set up and ready to check out items in minutes.
